WHAT IS www.curetrade.de FOR AND WHY CURETRADE? |

curetrade because everything began with trading "the cure" shows in the cure community ("the forum" about cure
in English ): www.curiosity.de
www.curetrade.de is a trading network for every kind of music . A big project , i know. But there is so much people
involved in this that it should walk alone . The second very usefull thing should be the solidarity between fans .
During the next "cure" tour in 2004 for example :
- the band is playing your country and it is easy for you to get tickets,
so post your requests or propose your help HERE :)
- You know cheap hotels around gigs or you or your friends have rooms to rent (affordable rooms, this is NOT a travel agency,
every missusing post will be deleteted)
- If you have some important info about a gig (how to get there, the location has CHANGED,ect), you should post
HERE ! ;)

WHAT ABOUT SHN SHOWS? |

UHM... in principle, SHN IS a good thing . SHN encoded shows means that the quality you 'll get
is by far better than, for example, with mp3's. BUT:
- you 'll need a special software to play SHN
- The (little) plug-in
you need does NOT work with a winamp version lower than winamp 3
- SHN files are enormous. If you dont have a fast
connexion like cable or DSL, forget it ,or it will take you an eternity downloading... And even with a really fast connexion you may have problems.
Trading would make more sense ---> cheaper,faster and it's nice to set up trades worldwide...:)

WHAT ABOUT MP3'S ? |

- Everything depends of the encoder.
- Some shows have a fantastic sound anyway and even when they are encoded with less than 100 kb/s, it is worth to convert them to
waw. But the limit should be 128 kb/s :)
- Some traders want to know everything about the record and the material the taper used .So much things are important by recording
a show (in or outdoor, mood of the band playing, the man on the soundboard and last but not least the taper himself- where did he stand?
did he enjoyed the music ? which vibrations did his arm put in the record ?
My point of wiew is that names of the mic's/md's/dat's are not really important. And: are the things written always the truth ?:)

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN TRADING AND SHARING? |

only one ,in my eyes :trading is for wav sourced shows, if your stuff
is mp3 sourced,tell your partner that it is !
Sharing allows you to have access to 100, 1000, a million (?.or more ?) shows on sites,ftp or private servers
and gives people in some countries where trading is not that easy for several reasons the chance to get music as
quick as possible. One last word about this : several of my favorite shows are from the web, big thanx to all the
girls and guys putting them online :) |

Simple :
since micosofty and sun had an argument about java-support on ms browsers , the first named decided to stop including
the "java virtual machine" in their browsers. Not very nice, but ...You may download the (little) programm from the sun website,
it is very simple to install:) |

WHAT ABOUT MAL- AND SPYWARE ? |

very good question. You cant ALWAYS avoid this kind of shit, but you can
follow a few rules. (I do:)
- The longer you are online , the bigger grows the hole in your system . Useless to tell you that an UPDATED
antivirus sofware is a must ,if possible with a firewall (hum... some freeware firewalls makes a big smile on
some hackers faces... if u know what i mean...:)
- And the most (it's a fact, not an opinion...:)download-managers are containing spyware...
Avoid sites (sorry to say this) with only a disclaimer telling you that site-owner are not responsible for possible dammages
caused by linked contents on THEIR site , thats not enough, by far not...)
your system could be greatfull with this kind of point of wiew ...:) |
